Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and Holiday with friends and families. With the rush of the busiest season of the year behind us, we can focus on new goals, hopes, and opportunities in the coming year of 2024. For us, it marks the 31st year of the CFMC. Not many entities can claim that longevity. One way of putting it is to say “we’ve survived” since 1993. But if we stop and think about why we’ve endured, it comes down to the hallmarks of our club; fun, friendship, and fellowship. Yes, it’s our common interest in the Miata that brought us together but it’s the socialization and friendship that keeps us together and active as a club. I view the CFMC as not just fellow members but as friends. I want to thank all who make up the CFMC for their support and participation that have made us successful. I encourage everyone to continue that commitment as we move into 2024.
I guess the title of this month’s President’s column could be entitled “So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu, adieu, to you and you and you” from the song in the movie “Sound of Music”. After serving as President of the CFMC for the past six years, I’ll be relinquishing the reins to a new President at the Annual meeting. I want to thank everyone for their support over the past six years and ask that you afford that same support to our new President. As a CFMC member for 15 years, it’s been an honor to serve a club that is a collection of fun-loving folks who sincerely enjoy being together. Although we’ve dealt with challenges like Covid, it has been the commitment of our members that has kept our club viable and active since 1993. I encourage our members to keep the traditions of our club alive through continued participation and hosting of events and activities. Judy and I look forward to many more years of participation in the CFMC, or at least until I am too old to get into and out of our Miata!
I look forward to a year of great CFMC events, activities, and stories in 2024. Judy and I wish everyone a new year of peace, hope, joy, happiness, and good health. Enjoy every top-down day we’re given. Zoom-Zoom!
