President’s Message – July 2025

Hi CFMC Members –

A big thanks to Bryana Belanger and the folks at Stevenson Hendrick Mazda for hosting the March Coffee Social. The food they provided from Sawmill was delicious, and the social was well-attended. They also gave us space in their parking lot to assemble on June 10th for the Wytheville, Virginia Back of the Dragon outing. Bryana scored one of the Club’s highly valuable “Activity Host” hats.

Regarding the Back of the Dragon outing, the twenty members that went all seemed to enjoy seeing a little bit of the Virginia countryside. I believe all ten cars completed the “Dragon” and, we were fortunate that every day was perfect top-down weather. I think my favorite part of the trip (other than the driving) was the complete tour of the Lincoln Theater. We saw where the talent entered the theater, their green room, the lighting control area, and some of their attic storage space. More about the trip later in the RTT.

A preliminary planning meeting has been held for the planning of the summer picnic. SAVE THE DATEAugust 16th at the St. James Waterway Park picnic pavilion. Our Vice President, Paul Reinmann, and Judy Judson are coordinating the planning efforts, but we could always use some support from other members.

We didn’t receive a lot of feedback regarding the suggestion for a Yadkin Valley Wine outing so, for now we will put that proposed outing on the shelf.

We currently do not have any activities scheduled for July. So, if anyone wants to take the lead in planning an outing, we welcome your efforts.

See you at a future club event.

Rick Judson

President’s Message – July 2023

Can 2023 be half over? I’m afraid so.  As we enter the second half of this year, we’re seeing shorter hours of daylight, longer lines at our favorite restaurants, more traffic, and crowds everywhere.  Welcome to summer in southeastern North Carolina. We shouldn’t be surprised because after all, those large crowds are here for the…

President’s Message – July 2023

After a beautiful spring, we find that summer is just around the corner. Even before summer’s official arrival on June 21, we’re seeing the influx of visitors to our area and the assurance that hot, humid days are sure to follow.  June also brings us other dates of celebration including Flag Day and the birthday…
