President’s Message – February 2026

From the Driver’s Seat: A Call for Co-Pilots

Hello everyone!

I hope you’ve all been enjoying the clear roads and the sound of your engines lately. As we look ahead to our upcoming year, I’m incredibly proud of how our club continues to grow and thankful for the jobs our current board members are doing. However, as any enthusiast knows, a high-performance machine only runs smoothly when every part is doing its job.

Right now, our “engine room”—the Board of Directors—has two critical openings that we need to fill to keep our club moving at full throttle. (I have talked with Fred Heaton and he is willing to take the Vice President’s position with me at the President’s position.)

Therefore, we’re looking for two key players:

  • Secretary: If you’re the person who keeps the “service records” of life organized, this is for you. You’ll be responsible for keeping our meeting minutes, managing official correspondence like emailing notices for meetings, and ensuring our club records are in top gear. It’s the backbone of our operations. Time commitment, 3 – 5 hours per month.
  • Activities Chair: Are you the one always scouting the best backroads or the perfect spot for a weekend meet? We need someone to coordinate our event planning and assist members with developing their activity ideas into reality. From activities (hopefully monthly) to other events, to our annual holiday meeting and party, you’ll be the creative spark of our club’s social calendar. Time commitment variable, 4 – 6 hours per month.

Why Step Up?

I know we’re all busy, but serving on the board is the best way to directly influence the direction of our club. You don’t need to be a master mechanic or a professional event planner, you just need a bit of time, a love for our community, and a desire to see this club thrive.

Without these roles filled, we simply can’t provide the level of programming and organization you’ve come to expect. If you’ve enjoyed our events in the past, consider this your chance to “pay it forward” and ensure our future is just as bright.

Ready to join the crew? We provide full “onboarding” (training) for both roles—you won’t be expected to fly solo right away. Please come chat with me at our next Panera’s coffee social or send me an Email at: reinmannpf@gmail.com or call at my cell: 910-515-5496 to express your interest or ask questions. I’m happy to grab a coffee and walk you through what the roles entail.

Let’s “Zoom Zoom” into the new year together,

Paul Reinmann, Acting President, Cape Fear Miata Club

President’s Message – May 2025

Hi CFMC Members – Finally, some real top-down weather! I hope everyone can take advantage of getting out on the road with the top dropped. Congratulations to John and Deb McLendon for planning a successful Southport Scavenger Hunt outing. Judy and I were disappointed we couldn’t attend but I heard from one of our members…

President’s Message – April 2025

Hi CFMC Members – This is the time of the year that we not only drive the same make of car but also the same color. With the abundance of pollen this year and the lack of rain, it looks like everything is turning yellow.  To the allergy sufferers, you have my sincere sympathy. A…

President’s Message – March 2025

Hi CFMC Members – I hope everyone is staying warm in what seems like an unusually cold winter. I am currently on a long-term Grandpa assignment in Bel Air, Maryland where it is a bit colder. I am truly looking forward to returning to Wilmington on March 10th. Congratulations again to our chili cookoff winners:…
