President’s Message – May 2026

Hello, Cape Fear Miata Club Family!

Is there anything better than May in North Carolina? The pollen is finally settling, the azaleas have done their thing, and the coastal air is hitting that “just right” temperature. If you haven’t dropped the top and headed toward the breeze lately, let this be your official reminder to grab your keys and go.

April was a fantastic month for us. Our coffee socials continue to draw many members, and the Lions Club Poker Run reminded me why this club is so special. It’s not just about cars, though a line of Miatas snaking down our local roads is a beautiful sight—it’s about the people in the seats.

Looking down the road as we cruise into May we have our regularly scheduled Monthly Coffee Social on May 16 at Panera Bread. As this is mostly a social event where we often tend to catch up with one and another and reflect on past club events, we also have the opportunity to discuss new club activity possibilities. So please bring your appetite, your best road trip stories and fresh ideas.

Take a look at the two trips planned for May and June in the Upcoming Events column. We will be going to Yoders Dutch Pantry and CSS Neuse Museum on May 7th. June 13th is the Beach, Brew and Cue trip.

Let us make the most of this beautiful May weather. Stay safe, keep the shiny side up, and I will see you at the next bend in the road!

Zoom-Zoom!

President’s Message – November 2018

As I write this, fall is finally making its appearance. Although summer is nice, it seemed as though it didn’t want to leave! The crisp, cool mornings are a welcome respite from the lingering humidity we experienced in September and most of October. We started October off with a fun trip to the Highland Games in Laurinburg and…

With the approach of Labor Day, we realize that the waning days of summer are here. But for those of us familiar with the significance of the June- November period in this area, we realize that we are in the midst of our most active time for the potential for hazardous weather. Now is the…
