President’s Message – August 2025

Hi CFMC Members –

With the recent heat, I guess everyone has been riding around with the top up and the A/C blasting.  Hopefully, we will get a little break in the heat in August (fingers crossed).

As everyone should know by now, we have scheduled our 2025 CFMC Club picnic for Saturday, August 16th at the Saint James Waterway Park pavilion.  Judy and I inspected the pavilion with Ron and Judy Carmichael and it seems like the ideal location for the picnic.  There are at least a dozen picnic tables, it is under cover with ceiling fans, and there are restrooms.  The park is a beautiful setting and is right on the Intracoastal Waterway.  And, we have arranged with Robert Wallace Catering to provide the food.  He comes highly recommended so I’m sure the food will be great.  For more about the picnic, see the Activities Column.

As of right now, we do not have any activities scheduled for September, October and November so if you are interested in hosting an outing we welcome your input.  These are some of the best months for top-down driving and scheduling a meetup and drive to Airlie Gardens or a cruise down to the new Fort Fisher Museum could get the members together for a few hours.  Or, if someone wants to explore a nondriving sunset cruise on the Wilmington Water Tour, they are doing their cruises Thursdays thru Sundays through Labor Day.   Other ideas are always welcome.

See you at a future club event.
