President’s Message – March 2022

I hope everyone has enjoyed these summer-like days we’ve had here at the end of February.  It has given us an excellent opportunity to get our Miatas primed for the top-down weather that is to come. The warm weather has made me wonder whether the “lamb” portion of March is going to be at the beginning part of the month and the “lion” portion at the end.  Regardless, we know that we’ll be able to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day and that Spring, with its signs of new birth and beginnings, will officially arrive shortly thereafter. The new CFMC Executive committee (EC) (officers and committee chairs) met via Zoom on February 5.  New incoming, outgoing and continuing EC members discussed the transition process and how we will continue to move forward as a club.  We plan to have additional meetings soon to discuss plans for this year.  The good news is that the latest Covid 19 variant seems to have peaked.  While understanding the need to remain vigilant, we are hopeful that the CFMC can resume some semblance of our monthly activities.  Judy and I have proposed a couple of upcoming trips for late March and April.  Please see John and Peggy Harris Activities column in this month’s Ragtop Tales for those ideas.  I continue to encourage all our members to suggest and consider hosting activities and events and forwarding your thoughts and ideas to John and Peggy at Mx5miata16@gmail.com.

Lots of tumultuous things are happening both here at home and abroad.  We must never forget that evil lurks in our world.  Let’s all remember those who are suffering at the hands of this evil and especially those brave men and women, our own and others, who are answering the call and their willingness to sacrifice everything in the fight against those who are intent on destroying us and our way of life.  This is just another reminder that the freedoms we enjoy are bought and paid for through the service and sacrifice of the brave.  We must never forget those whose courage have enabled the freedoms and blessings we enjoy.

Everyone stay safe and healthy, and let’s get those Miatas warmed up and ready.  I hope to see everyone at an event real soon.  Zoom-Zoom!

President’s Message – September 2022

Is summer really almost over? As Labor Day approaches, we make plans to celebrate our last holiday of the summer season. The coming days bring later sunrises, earlier sunsets, moderating temperatures, and hopefully, lower humidity. As I have mentioned in my previous columns, we are in the peak of hurricane season here in southeast North…

President’s Message – August 2022

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable July 4th holiday.  Historically, we are in the latter half of summer.  The waning of visits and vacations and the Labor Day weekend is just a month away.  It is also important to remember that the height of hurricane season in our area runs from late August…

President’s Message – July 2022

Well, one half of 2022 is in the books.  Summer is in full swing, and our thoughts turn to warm (hot!) days, visitors (lots of them), trips to the beaches, and the other beckoning attractions in our area. But don’t forget to be prepared for our unscheduled visitors; hurricanes.  Make sure to have those preparation…
