President’s Message – October 2022

October brings us to the final quarter of 2022.  I had to stop and think about that before I mentioned it in this month’s column.  We welcome the cooler nights and milder days that tease us before the colder realities of November and December arrive. I hope that everyone survived hurricane Ian and its impacts. Our hearts and prayers go out to those who have suffered as a result of this storm.  Remember that hurricane season goes through November 30 so keep your watch out and your storm preparation plans handy.

Rick and Judy Judson hosted an outstanding CFMC trip September 13-16.  Make sure to see the write up about the trip in this month’s Ragtop Tales.  There is plenty of beautiful weather remaining in 2022 so again, please consider hosting a CFMC activity for the remaining months of this year.  It is also time to begin making arrangements for our annual holiday party and meeting.  After being cancelled for the past two years due to the pandemic, we are hoping to resume this popular and fun event.

I would like to remind everyone of the memorial service for our CFMC Vice President, friend and fellow member,  Bill Bertrand which will be held on:

Saturday October 8 @ 11:00 AM
Holy Cross Episcopal Church of Myrtle Grove
5820 Myrtle Grove Road
Wilmington, NC

Please plan to attend as we honor Bill and support Jo-Ann during this difficult time.  Because of Bill’s memorial service, we will not be holding this month’s Saturday coffee social on October 8 at Bitty and Beaus.  We will resume our Bitty and Beaus socials in November.

This month’s column is shorter because Judy and I just returned from our first out-of-country post-Covid trip.  I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and we hope to see everyone soon at a CFMC activity.

Zoom-Zoom!

President’s Message – December 2020

It’s almost over!  What a year 2020 has been.  I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving even if this year’s celebrations were a little different than those of the past.  December is arriving and with it comes a time to reflect on what the ending year brought and the anticipation of what the…

President’s Message – November 2020

I hope this finds everyone and their families safe and healthy.  Although the calendar indicates otherwise, summer weather has lingered as long as possible, finally loosening its grip as we ease into November.  Hopefully, we can salvage a few days of autumn crispness and color before we emerge into the holiday season and winter.  November…
