Southport Scavenger Hunt
Twenty-two members of the CFMC gathered at the Haven of Southport (SPT) on Saturday, April 26 to compete in a Scavenger Hunt hosted by Debra and John McLendon. Prior to the trip, the group gathered in the courtyard there, where many took advantage of the refreshing gelato flown in from Italy. Each guest was presented with a gift bag containing water, snacks, and a clue booklet. As it turned out, there was a Classic Car Show being held that same day in downtown SPT, which made navigating around town a bit more challenging due to the amount of traffic, but the drivers and their co-pilots prevailed! There were eleven clues and ten bonus questions. After roughly one and a half hours of hunting for clues in both SPT and Oak Island, the first drivers and co-pilots arrived at our final meeting point, Seahorse at the Ocean Crest Pier. So, a big shout-out to the top 3 winners:
1st Place: Paul & Rebecca Reinmann
2nd Place: Rick Piotrzkowski & Mike Gray
3rd Place: Bill Sundberg
Each of the winning teams was presented with prizes. And, as if the day couldn’t get any better, nearly half of the crew gathered together at Island Way for a delicious al fresco group dinner complete with salubrious breezes! We enjoyed getting to know the members better and look forward to our next outing!
