President’s Message – May 2023

Spring is in full bloom and summer is just around the corner. As I write this month’s column, Judy and I are in Boise, Idaho for a reunion. Spring is a later arrival here with snow cover at the higher elevations. Spring blooms are about 3-4 weeks behind our area, but you can tell it’s on the way. Judy and I have lots of out-of-area travel planned for May and June, so our participation in CFMC events will be limited.

Gina and Ken Schiess hosted a great half-day long road trip on April 15. Read about the adventure in this month’s RTT. We have a busy time ahead for the CFMC in the next couple of months. Fred Heaton is planning an event for mid-May, and Kevin and Deb Perham will host their fantastic Belmont “Steaks” event in June.

May brings us two important holidays that deserve our gratitude and appreciation. Mother’s Day on May 14 and Memorial Day is celebrated on Monday, May 29. These holidays celebrate sacrifice, love of family and country. We all have been blessed by the commitment and perseverance that these holidays represent. So please make sure to spend some quality time reflecting on what impact Mother’s Day and Memorial Day have on our lives.

Enjoy the pleasant spring weather before the heat, humidity, and crowds of summer arrive. We hope to see you soon. Zoom-Zoom!

President’s Message – June 2021

As May ends with summer-like heat, we gear up for what we all hope will be a much more “normal” summer than that of 2020.  Believe it or not, by the end of June our daylight will begin to shorten so make sure to enjoy this precious commodity while we can. I am thrilled to…
