President’s Message – August 2026

Welcome to August, the turning point of summer when the temperatures start to drop. I know that it is still not too hot when I saw members drop their tops leaving the Healy car museum event a couple of weeks ago. It’s good to enjoy the fresh air and the improved visibility a convertible offers.

A big thanks goes to Tom Pane for organizing this event and coordinating it with our monthly gathering at Panera Bread. It went like this: First gear – Panera Bread; Second gear – Glenn Healy car museum; Third gear – Lunch at Wrightsville Beach Brewery.

And what a special treat to see all those cars and the railroad memorabilia Mr. Healy had on display. He also had many interesting tidbits to offer regarding his different cars and also on his railroad hardware on display. He is quite the docent.

Overall, this event drew a large attendance, greater than we normally see for a single day event. So maybe we could consider this as a template for some future events? Food for thought.

Looking forward we have our regularly scheduled social gatherings at Panera Bread and maybe more events as members consider all the possibilities.

I hope to see you at our next event.

President’s Message – October 2021

This time of the year in southeastern NC is a perfect time to enjoy top-down weather in our favorite roadster.   As I write this column, we’re in Banner Elk, NC at approximately 4000 feet of elevation.  The air…
