Hi CFMC Members –
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with family and friends. Now, the sprint is on to take advantage of all the shopping opportunities available at this time of year. In all this rush of the season, please make sure to remember to renew your membership with the club.
Looking back at the past month, I want to thank Ken Schiess for arranging the outing to the Veterans Day Fly-In and Car Show. Judy and I wished we could have made that outing, but we were out of town. I hope those that went on the outing had a good time and enjoyed being with fellow club members.
The November 20th outing to the Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery saw a pretty good turn out with 8 cars departing from the North Carolina Battleship parking lot for a scenic cruise up 421, west on NC 53 and then into Elizabethtown on route 41. The ride lasted almost an hour and a half which left the group ready for tastings at the Tipsy Toad and lunch at the Cork Room where we had a few other members join us for a total outing number of 19 members (see separate article about his outing). We look forward to being with everyone again at the next club event.
Speaking of the next club event, it looks like our next activity is the CFMC coffee social on December 14th at Panera near Independence Mall. Our club Secretary, Fred Heaton, is taking a well-deserved lengthy cruise, so I wanted to make mention of the coffee social in case the monthly reminder doesn’t get issued.
Looking further ahead, we have the upcoming Annual Holiday Party scheduled for January 12th at Circa 1922. At the party we will be electing our new club officers for the upcoming year and kick off 2025 with our general meeting. This is always a well-attended fun event that includes the ever-popular Yankee Swap. There is more information in this newsletter about the dinner and meeting. Please be sure to RSVP to Judy about attendance at the dinner since we are limited to the number of people the restaurant can accommodate.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season and can spend time with family and friends.
Until we talk again, stay healthy and safe.
